Last night was perfect combination of fantastic conditions and end of summer conditioning..... the result??? a ton of PRs!!As we gathered at the start at 6:00pm, the winds died down to complete calm. Perrrfect!Nine rolled to the line with one new TTer - Welcome Steve!The fastest time was rode by Alex Johnson. Alex lay waste to the course, leaving a wake of devastation as he clocked another PR and lowered his 2016 course record by 36 seconds! Good morning everyone, It was another great evening of riding at the SnE West ride last night. There were 52 members and 1 guest for a total of 53 riders. The group pedaled a total of 858 miles on four different routes. Tom Hotaling led a large group on his hilly route covering 22 miles while Mike Lyon commanded an equally large group on a less intimidating route of 21 miles. It was the last night of Mtn. biking at the Bear and we had a record crowd of 15 members and 2 guest on a pleasant evening for riding. We covered about 9 miles with lots of ups and downs with a few logs to go over. WE split up into two groups with Bob leading the first group of more experienced riders who want to ride faster. I took the next group of 8 riders at an easier pace. Everyone had a good time and all thanked me for starting the Mtn. Biking rides and hope we will keep it going next year. It was a nice windy day for the 100Km ride 11 riders started the ride (8 for 62, 2 for 46) 1 rider (ride leader) had a hole in the side wall that caused a blowout on rt 11A downhill so only did 3.6 miles 1 rider came in from Syracuse, tempting the weather forecast (lucky it didn’t rain as predicted) Reported was Stevens road at 17% Strong was a surprise quite hilly 11A was a steep descent Total climb was 3700 feet Rt 13 needs resurfacing And it was very scenic Total was 593 miles. Hi Everyone, OCC’s next *Slow ‘n Easy West* ride is scheduled for Tuesday, August 30,2016 and leaves from the west end parking lot of Reed Webster Park in Camillus, located on Warners Rd (Rt 173), promptly at 6:00 PM. It’s the end of August as well as NYS Fair week…some roads that connect to the Fair may be congested. The days are getting shorter now so we will be decreasing the distance on some of the rides to compensate for this.
