We had 18 riders show up for the last Tuesday ride.  Due to the earlier sunset time rides were a bit shorter.  They rode between 13 and 21 miles for a total of 350 miles.  Thanks to Mike Schiavone and Brian Bell for leading the faster group and a special thanks to Karen Kelly for leading the somewhat slower group.  When I got to the park the temperature was 71 but during the ride it dropped to 57.  It didn’t go unnoticed. Fall is definitely in the air.  The temperature at start time (5:45pm ish) was 66 degrees.  The full sun kept it comfortable.  The breeze appeared to be about 5mph out of the NW.  Cool weather is a double edged sword -  the cool air is denser and therefore offers more resistance, but, on the other hand,  one is less likely to overheat.Four TTers showed up to take advantage of the reasonably good conditions.   Mike H sliced and diced the course in a FMT time of 25:11 (23.82mph).&nb ...Continue Reading

Eleven intrepid individuals showed up to ride in wind gusts up to 35 mph today. The “gusts” ended up to be fairly steady with rare moments of “steady” 14 mph intervals. One individual wisely opted to drive back home instead of having to ride the entire way back to the start heading into the maelstrom. That left ten riders who completed 365 miles, miles that also included lake effect sprinkles (tolerable) and brief downpours (not so tolerable, especially when it’s pelted at you).
