There was one mishap a broken rear derailer cable at about 7 miles out. Glad it happened then so the ride back was short. No other mishaps were reported. Chestnut Ridge is lined, and seems there’s less room for cyclists. The photos show an area with an exceptionally narrow shoulder, but most is not a foot wide or less. While there was a threat of thunderstorms,  the TTers only had to deal with light showers for the final 10 minutes of their ride. Two TTers rolled to the line for their Race of Truth.   Conditions were rather nice -  82 degrees with very light winds.    Ken Toscano took the FMT honors with what turned out to be a recovery ride for him.  The long weekend rides had taken its toll and he stated he couldn't push his HR beyond the 140s.  I hope I didn't break HIPPA rules with that ...Continue Reading

The bridge was passable by foot and bike, and the gravel on the road was rideable with my 28mm tires.Would I purposely ride it again on my road bike?
