It poured. I mean it was a veritable cloud burst....when I was putting my bike in the car to get to the ride. Haven't seen that kind of rain in quite a while. I knew though that the ride location was going to be rain free. The rain cooled the temps at home to 74 degrees. When I got to Great Northern Mall it was sunny and not a drop had fallen. For the first SnE of the season it was a success. While we were down to only 16 members and 5 guest all reports were positive. I suspect this was at least partially due to the 90 degree heat. There were only two groups last night. Those doing 18 miles lead by Pete Zeleznock (Thanks Pete) and those doing the 22 mile loop. As you saw in Doug's email last week, OCC Club rides officially start today! Yay! This includes the Tuesday night Time Trial. The layout of the TT course is unchanged. Road resurfacing was completed on the last half of Marsh Mill Rd. That road is now very smooth. The rest of the course is still in very good condition. I marked and swept the course last night. For those that wish to participle we must adhere to the latest New York State's Sports and Recreation Guidelines. You must wear a mask when it is not possible to social distance.
