What a great day to be on the bike! Nine members traveled to Preble to ride along some nice country roads. Most did 44 miles, we had one ambitious rider who did 67 (go Ed!). Once we got past the first busy road, the route took us down past Greek Peak followed by a very nice downhill beside a stream to Route 11. We took a detour off Route 11 before getting into Cortland (thanks ride scheduler, route changer extraordinaire) which brought us high above Homer for a very nice view. After, a few of us ...Continue Reading

Tomorrow’s ride starts from Dwyer Memorial Park in Preble. There are two mileages on the map – 44 and 67 – but it looks like a route in between can be done as well. We can be creative if needed and hopefully go around Cortland. I’ll ask the ride scheduler for advice. Hope to see some people out tomorrow. After, you can get lunch at Bob’s BBQ in Homer. ...Continue Reading

Hi Everyone! It was a bit on the cloudy and cool side last night but we had 35 members and no guests for a total of 35 riders. We had our usual mix of rides for the group to chose from. Tom Hotaling led his group on a challenging 25 mile loop around the area while Mike Lyon took his intermediate group on a 22 mile loop which was the same route as last week except ridden in reverse. Mark Perrin of The Bikery, with the help of Dean Connery and Al Storrings lead their group on a 10 mile easy highway ...Continue Reading

The conditions, as expected, were not ideal, but four of last week's combatants showed up to do battle with the course anyway. The temperature hovered around 59 degrees with a 10 mph NW breeze. The conditions were probably a bit more challenging than last week.We had repeat FMT/FWTs this week... Alex Johnson took the Fastest Man honors with a time of 24:07 (24.88 mph) which was 2 seconds faster than last week. Karen Busse was the FMT with a time of 27:35 (21.75mph). ...Continue Reading

Hi everyone,This has been a pretty unsettled day weather-wise. Sun at times, lots of clouds and cooler than we like temperatures. Right now we are showing a temperature of around 62o and a variable wind. Looking at the radar, it appears that the wet spots are now to the east of us and there is very little precipitation to our west. The roads are mostly dry and I would guess the canal path is a little damp. For those of you coming out tonight I recommend that you dress for cool weather cycli ...Continue Reading
