Another great day to ride and another great ride! Rudy’s is a classic ride and we even had a couple people with us who had never been there! Seventeen of us hit the roads this morning with six opting to do the short mileage and the rest doing the long route. As we got to Oswego, the students were coming back so traffic was a bit congested through the college and Rudy’s was quite busy. We all stopped to refuel with the most popular item being milkshakes or some other ice cream product. ...Continue Reading

I will be leading the ride on Saturday. In addition to the primary 65 mile route I will have maps for a 30, 37 and 52 mile route as well. The shorter routes bypass the tough Otisco Rd. climb but still provide enough challenge to make it interesting. Weather forecast is sunny and 60-70 degrees - doesn't get any better than that! Tomorrow’s ride is the famous Rudy’s ride from Phoenix to the shores of Lake Ontario. There are two options – 58 and 42 miles. The longer route goes to Rudy’s and it’s typical that everyone stops there to refuel. Their choices include an assortment of fried foods or ice cream. Milkshakes are a favorite, too, but make sure there’s time to enjoy it. The shorter ride goes to Minetto and there’s the option to visit the new Byrne Dairy in Phoenix after the ride. Hope to see you tomor ...Continue Reading

I will be leading the ride on Saturday. The primary route is challenging and includes some spectacular scenery and a few tough climbs. A 40 and 50 mile ride will also be available - both of these rides will cover much of the same route but will avoid the brutal Otisco and Cemetary Rd. climbs. After the ride there are two great options for refueling in Tully - "A Pizza and More" and "Sweet Basil" restaurants. I have been to both and they are excellent. Sweet Basil's has a ...Continue Reading

You can also stop at Gears and Grinds bike shop which is about 2 blocks from the ferry dock in Kingston. My son, who has worked there, sent me their links to several Kingston bike routes when some friends wanted similar information. Unfortunately I didn't keep the email but I can tell you there were lots of options.>>> "Teixeira, Matthew M mteixeira@PROTECTED [occ2]" <occ2@PROTECTED> 08/22/17 11:33 AM >>> Some o ...Continue Reading
