I will be leading the ride on Saturday. The primary route is challenging and includes some spectacular scenery and a few tough climbs. A 40 and 50 mile ride will also be available - both of these rides will cover much of the same route but will avoid the brutal Otisco and Cemetary Rd. climbs. After the ride there are two great options for refueling in Tully - "A Pizza and More" and "Sweet Basil" restaurants. I have been to both and they are excellent. Sweet Basil's has a ...Continue Reading

You can also stop at Gears and Grinds bike shop which is about 2 blocks from the ferry dock in Kingston. My son, who has worked there, sent me their links to several Kingston bike routes when some friends wanted similar information. Unfortunately I didn't keep the email but I can tell you there were lots of options.>>> "Teixeira, Matthew M mteixeira@PROTECTED [occ2]" <occ2@PROTECTED> 08/22/17 11:33 AM >>> Some o ...Continue Reading

Perhaps it is just my sample, but I did a large organized ride in Lancaster, PA on Sunday and the average age of attendees looked to be in the 50s. Doesn't seem to be that many younger people riding on the road. - Bill Glen said: > Say it ain't so Joe, say it ain't so > https://www.outsideonline.com/2235071/death-road-riding > > Sent from my iPhone ...Continue Reading

Hi Everyone, I hate to disappoint so many great folks, but Mike and I decided that it would be a good idea to cancel tonight’s Slow ‘n Easy West Ride. There is heavy rain, lightning and strong winds in these storm fronts. We would all have a hard time of it if we rode and someone was hurt…not worth it. these rides should be safe and fun…tonight is not. Sorry to do this to all of you who have taken up my challenge of getting a friend to come out and ride tonight. It is best that they are ...Continue Reading

The forecast has degraded even further... tornado watch, strong storms from 4-7pm.I think it is prudent to cancel tonights TT. The wind is out of the SW anyway... which means slow times... I know if the wind was projected to come out of the E or SE some would want to risk it for a PR See ya next week!Brian *From:* Brian Goetke <goetke1@PROTECTED> *To:* Occ2 <occ2@PROTECTED> *Sent:* Tuesday, August 22, 2017 11:13 AM *Subject:* Re: OCC Tuesday night Time Trial Results - week ...Continue Reading

Some of my family is going to drive up to Cape Vincent and take the ferry to Wolfe Island and bike from there into Kingston ON… we are looking for suggestions for bike routes/suggested stops in Kingston once there… We are looking for around 30 miles total riding – so no more than 10 to 15 miles in Kingston… I have done some searches on Ride With GPS but have not found much – I did find a great 70 mile ride that loops from Cape Vincent in Canada, then up the coast and back into the US and down back to Cape ...Continue Reading
